Breguet Replica Watches: A Unique Watch
Breguet replica watches have joined a unique history of timepieces that gave birth to numerous innovations, elegant designs and dare complications. Nowadays you will find numerous fashion brands popular among Hollywood stars and other celebrities. But not so many of them may be proud of producing timepieces that conquered the hearts and respect of loyal royal fans. Here is the amazing story of the first Breguet timepiece to be owned by a crowned head. In 1783 a man who was possibly one of Marie Antoinette's lovers commissioned Breguet to develop a watch to be owned by the French queen. The timepiece was required to feature every complication known to the watchmakers at the time. As the result there appeared a unique watch supplied with a perpetual calendar that adjusted for leap years, a repeater that chimed out the hours, quarter hours and minutes. The owner of the timepiece could also find out both solar time and mean time. The watch had a thermometer and a power-reserve indicator. The fact is that the watch was finished only 44 years later, 10 years after Marie Antoinette's death and four years after A.L. Breguet's. The watchmaker entrusted his assistants to carry on the task, and ultimately the watch found a new owner - Marquis de Garoye of Paris. The unique watch was owned by a few more personalities until it was purchased by David Lionel Salomons. The watch was inherited by his daughter, who handed it over to the L.A. Mayer Museum for Islamic Art in Jerusalem. It was housed there until 1983 when burglars penetrated into the museum and stole the biggest part of the Salomons collection. The most high-priced piece of the collection was the Marie Antoinette watch that has never been reclaimed. The Marie Antoinette watch represented one of the oldest watches in the world which was still ticking when it was stolen. The destiny of the important piece of the Breguets history is unclear. Nobody knows for sure whether the thieves actually realized what valuable item got into their arms. There are no guarantees that the watch still exists. The timepiece requires careful treatment. The oil must be changed inside and the inside must be checked out to make certain everything inside works perfectly. In Breguets archives you will discover a 230-year-old pocket watch as well as several 200-year-old timepieces. Among Breguet replica watches there are a lot of special timepieces that will become your reliable companions. |
