 Antiquorum, the international fine watch auction house, has had the most successful start of the fall season one could think of. The first sale known as the auction of Important Collectors' Wristwatches and Pocket Watches achieved astounding 4,648,463 dollars. Altogether 335 timepieces were offered for the auction sale, with 127 percent sold by value and 80 percent sold by lot. The auction attracted attention of bidders from numerous countries of the world who participated in different formats, including over the phone and online. According to Julien Schaerer, Antiquorum USA Watch Directo, the results of the latest Antiquorum auction sale have proved that in spite of recent unsteady situation at stock and real estate markets, the collectors' watch market still holds strong positions. Jules Audemars-Tourbillon Repetition Minutes Chronographe turned out to be the top lot. The remarkable timepiece was sold for 299,600 dollars. The timekeeping creations of A. Lange and Sohne company were also featured on the list of top lots. The brand's Double Split Flyback was acquired for 117,400 dollars, while a Lange 1 Tourbillon hit 169,150 dollars. The Patek Philippe Safari Clock set a new world record, having been sold for 128,900 dollars, while the Patek Philippe World-Time Wall Clock was sold for 27,140 dollars. Jaeger-LeCoultre watches were also highly demanded by the fall auction's bidders – the brand's Master Minute Repeater Antoine LeCoultre was sold for 128,900 dollars. The list of most highly-priced lots is continued by an Omega Speedmaster watch sold for 82,600 dollars, a Rolex Gold Cosmograph sold for 66,080 dollars and a Cosmograph Daytona in stainless steel sold for 30,680 dollars.
