New Exclusive Girard-Perregaux Chronograph Watches

Girard-Perregaux has maintained the continuous partnership with the Monte-Carlo Historic Rally, staging the world-famous car road race. The Automobile Club De Monaco organizes the prominent competition. The winter motor-racing classics rightfully boasts the status of a not-to-miss event. The Girard-Perregaux Manufacture decided to pay tribute to the notable event by developing a limited edition of watches.

Girard-Perregaux Richeville Chronograph 'MONTE-CARLO 1954' represents a watch model created in honor of the memorable Monte-Carlo Rally 1954. The race entered the history of motor racing for its bitter contest. The champions Louis Chiron and Ciro Basadonna who were at the wheel of their elegant Lancia Aurelia B20 GT, No. 69, finally won the race.

To keep the memory of the exciting event special for its competitive spirit and dating to the Rally's golden age, the Girard-Perregaux watchmakers has developed a chronograph watch driven by an in-house automatic mechanical movement. The chronograph is available in two limited-edition individually-numbered series, 250 pieces in steel and 50 pieces in pink gold.

The brand's watchmakers have opted for the tonneau-shaped case, a timeless classic in the field of watch-making, and a perfect reflection for the historical theme. The dial features the inscription of the legendary event the timepiece is devoted to, 'Monte-Carlo 1954', while the case back sports the engravings of the winners' registration-plate as well as the names of the car and its winning drivers.

One more newly developed Girard-Perregaux watch model, the Fly-back Chronograph 'MONTE-CARLO 1970' commemorates the year 1970 that is memorable for its exciting contests, a lot of accidents and icy patches on roads free of snow. Bjorn Waldegaard and Lars Helmer won the race at the wheel of their legendary Porsche 911 S, No 6.

The new Girard-Perregaux Fly-back Chronograph has been created to keep the memory of the epic exploits. The Manufacture equipped the chronograph with its in-house automatic movement with a fly-back mechanism. This function was originally invented for timepieces to be used by airplane pilots. Due to the fly-back function, the chronograph hands return to zero and at once start again with no stop when the chronograph is activated. It is just necessary to press on the push-piece to gain precious time in the chronograph utilization.

The dial of the Fly-back Chronograph keeps memory of the notable race with the inscription 'Monte-Carlo 1970'. It sports the sub-dials suggested by the dashboard chronometers featured at the dashboard of the car driven by the winning drivers. The watch's case-back has the engravings of their names as well as of the car and a reproduction of the registration-plate.
