The new manager's target was to draw the experience and energy of a newly-formed management team. Juan-Carlos Torres took over the company as Chief Executive of Vacheron Constantin in October, 2005.
Juan-Carlos coming from Barcelona moved to Switzerland in 1960. The new Vacheron Constantin's leader is married and has two children. Besides watch-making, he is greatly interested in classical music and cinema, as well as skiing and motor-racing. Juan-Carlos Torres has been working for Vacheron Constantin since 1981. His career started in the accounts department before he was appointed Financial Director in 1987.
In 1996, Mr. Torres was responsible for the process of integrating Vacheron Constantin within the Richemont Group, the new brand owners. Due to his efforts the brand took advantage of the international distribution network established by Richemont. In 2000, he was commissioned with taking care of the entire manufacturing and watch-making sector, together with his previous responsibilities. The position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer suggested his supervision of the redeployment process of the company's real estate assets.
